Potton is a small market town just a few miles east of Sandy, near the Cambridgeshire border. The town belonged to the Earls of Huntingdon in the Middle Ages and held a market here as early as 1200. Until the early 20th century the village was home to a horse fair that attracted visitors from across the county.
