Tudor extravagance approached over a three arched bridge across a moat, through a massive seven-storied gatehouse. Interior belies the Tudor exterior, being mostly Victorian. One treasure is embroidery done by Mary Queen of Scots during her long captivity.
Garden: A formal French pareterre is at the heart of these gardens surrounding a moated medieval manor. There is also a walled garden and kitchen garden, and enjoyable woodland walks.
