The Little Fleece Bookshop is a 17th century house in typical Cotswold style, built of local warm-toned limestone. The building was once part of an inn (hence the name) but is now a private dwelling and National Trust book store. Though it was built in the 17th century, the house was remodelled in attractive Arts and Crafts style during the 1930s and remains an excellent example of Arts and Crafts ideas.

The Bppkshop can be found on Bisley Street in the midst of the winding lanes that so characterise the lovely village of Painswick. The church of Painswick is famous for its yew trees - a legend says that if you count them you will always get a diffeent number.

A short distance away is Painswick Rococo Garden, a delightful privately owned garden.

Note: The Little Fleece is owned by the National Trust but is leased to a tenant. The Trust advises contacting the tenant to check times of opening.
