1 OF 3 PROPERTIES ON SITE SURROUNDED BY FIELDS AND WOODLAND IN THE ROLLING HILLS OF NORTH DEVON The cottages at Thorne Farm have all been named after traditional field names and are peacefully situated at the end of a private lane surrounded by fields and woodland and set in the rolling hills of North Devon. This small farm where sheep cattle and free-range hens are kept is part of the Environmental Stewardship Scheme and is home to a wide selection of bird and animal life; barn owls woodpeckers swallows deer foxes hares and badgers are all regular visitors. There are 2 wildlife ponds set amidst wild flowers and woodland.
Guests can enjoy exploring the farm relax in the garden or by the pond or go for a country walk straight from their front door. Close by is the Tarka Trail which gives you many miles of safe track for walking and cycling with its fantastic estuary and forested river valley scenery. The village of Langtree a pleasant 2 mile walk along narrow lanes has a shop and a pub serving meals.
The cottages are 3 miles from RHS Rosemoor a must for all garden lovers. Great Torrington is a 10 minute drive away and offers a range of traditional shops pubs cafes and Art Centre as well as the 1646 award-winning visitor attraction and the Dartington glass centre. The coast is within a half hour drive and offers a choice of wide sandy beaches or small coves sheltering under spectacular cliffs.
Exmoor and Dartmoor are a 45 minute drive away and can both be seen from the surrounding fields. A wide range of attractions and places of interest to suit all ages and tastes are within easy reach and the owners of Thorne Farm are more than happy to advise you on these. On arrival you will be warmly welcomed with tea and homemade cakes.
Outside: on site relax in the enclosed shared lawned picnic area which is just 10 yards from the cottages with ample seating and play space. Amenities: ample parking outside the properties. Bed linen electric and full central heating included.

Arrival 3.30pmApple Acre is a spacious and comfortable cottage which has been converted to a good standard from an old shippen. It provides flexible accommodation with FOUR bedrooms: on the first floor there are 2 large comfortable rooms with countryside views comprising 1 double with en-suite WC and handbasin and 1 twin bedroom.
On the ground floor there are 2 bunk bedrooms with 3' bunk beds. Bathroom: large family size on the first floor with bath separate shower cubicle and WC. Separate shower room with WC on the ground floor.
The hallway kitchen and sitting room all have hardwood parquet floors. Lounge: comfortable room with 3 piece suite flatscreen TV DVD hi-fi books board games and french doors leading outside. Kitchen/diner: large and well-equipped with beamed ceiling farmhouse table and chairs leather suite electric cooker with ceramic hob combination microwave fridge/freezer washer/dryer and portable flatscreen TV/DVD combo.
Outside: bench seating for the exclusive use of the cottage. Other properties at Thorne Farm include CLOVE and GARDP.
