This detached cottage is in the scattered hamlet of Mansergh, near to the town of Kirby Lonsdale, and sleeps six people in three bedrooms.

The Old Stables is a conversion of a stable block within the scattered hamlet of Mansergh, three miles from Kirby Lonsdale, inbetween the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Park. This upside down cottage has three ground floor bedrooms, consisting of a twin room with en-suite shower room, another twin room with utility room off, and one double, as well as a ground floor family bathroom, which means this cottage sleeps six people. The first floor at this cottage contains a oak fitted kitchen and an open plan living room with separate dining area, multi-fuel stove and small balcony.

Outside, this cottage has off road parking for two cars and a garden, seating area, garden furniture and BBQ. The Old Stables is a wonderful family cottage in a lovely area.

very nice but could do better
We were a family party of 12 staying in The Old Stables and Beckside Cottage for New Year. The Old Stables cottage was very quaint and quirky. The bedrooms, and the family bathroom in particular , were lovely and warm but the living area upstairs got a little cool at times, possibly because it was open plan. There was a wood burner, which we used, but it rapidly went through our fuel supplies and worked out quite expensive. I think a multi- fuel fire would be more effective. The property advertised towels included but we only had one small bath towel each ( approx 120 x 60 cm ). When I requested more towels I was questioned " for what purpose"!?!? We did get another 6 small towels to share between the 12 of us.At other rentals I have visited,I have always been supplied with a small towel bale of at least a large and medium bath sheet plus hand towel. We did enjoy our stay and would return, possibly in the summer months.

Wi Fi Broadband
This property is described as having broadband wifi. It might, but it's hopeless and required us to visit Kirby Lonsdale to obtain internet access. So if you definitely need access to email and the web, don't choose this cottage.

Beautiful place to stay and I would highly recommend this peaceful, rural, setting. The 'Old Stables' was a great place to base a holiday and is conveniently situated with easy access to the M6, Lake District or Yorkshire Dales.
