The Shavings occupies an excellent location on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Just over 2 miles from Buxton, this charming studio apartment is set on the ground floor of an old stone barn on a working farm in the hamlet of Cowdale. The Shavings’ welcoming and comfortable accommodation includes an open plan studio room with double bed, a well equipped fitted kitchen area with breakfast bar and a sitting area. There are numerous diverse and enjoyable walks that start from The Shavings’ doorstep, and wonderful market towns offering gorgeous local food and drink. This is a cosy and value for money holiday home for those who want to sample all that the Peak District has to offer.

The location and area was fantastic and the accommodation was just what we needed in terms of a base to explore the Peak District. Also we could take our dog which was an added bonus. The hamlet of Cowdale was lovely with access to some great country walks.
