Coed y Gelli is a delightful conversion on an old cow byre which retains plenty of original charm and character with open beams, a four poster bed, a wood burner and generously spacious accommodation.

Located in a lovely rural location five miles from the bustling market town of Abergavenny on the owner's working stud farm close to Llanarth, the property is decorated and furnished to a very high standard throughout. A lovely romantic retreat, Coed y Gelli offers accommodation including one double bedroom, and an open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside there is a pretty garden to enjoy, and the cottage’s proximity to many walks and attractions makes this a wonderful location for a "get away from it all" break.

Gorgeous, peaceful, cottage
We've just returned from a week in this idyllic cottage. Everything you could wish for was provided. Very comfortable and clean too. Lovely friendly owners and stunning scenery. A bonus for me were the horses. Cost me 2 bags of carrots! By end of the week they trotted over when they saw me. If you want to explore this beautiful part of the world and need a romantic hideaway for 2 then look no further.

Disgusting dirty nightmare
On arrival all seemed well, but upon further inspection the whole place was dirty well very dirty, pictures not dusted for months, light fittings full of dust. Dead flies behind the television and long dead spiders stuck in the pampers grass. There was no informatiuon brouchure and no welcome gift (we booked via a holiday cottage site). This whole place lacked charm. When we checked the bed we discovered the mattress was heavily soiled and the sheets had long hairs on them, even the toilet wasnt clean so we presented our findings to the female host which she was not interested so we choose to leave and will not be returning. We are a gay couple and we must say we felt we were not welcome. We are still waiting to get our money back as we never stayed one night.

Coed-y-Gelli was a spacious, single storey cottage and very well equipped. The owners were friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for exploring the area which is outstandingly beautiful. Highly recommended.

Our stay was perfect. We could not ask for more. A wonderful location with delightful and comfortable accommodation and hospitable but not intrusive owners. We will certainly visit again.

The cottage was the perfect base to go off and explore the local area. The fireplace in the cottage was great for the slightly colder evenings. The stud farm was really idyllic and having the horses and foals right next to the cottage was a real highlight for a horse lover like myself. Had a really wonderful time and would certainly return for another holiday.
