Sleeping eight people in four bedrooms, this detached chapel conversion in a rural location 7.5 miles from Harlech makes a perfect peaceful Welsh holiday base.

Hen Gapel is a former chapel, now fully converted to offer a comfortable holiday home in the scattered rural hamlet of Llandecwyn, just over 7 miles from Harlech. There are two first floor bedrooms, a king-size double with a dressing room and a twin with a low doorway, and two ground floor bedrooms, a double with en-suite shower room and a room with adult bunks. There is also a first floor shower room. The kitchen has a dining area, there is a handy utility shed outside, and for relaxing, guests can choose from the living room with woodburner, the conservatory or the first floor sitting room with pool table. Outside, there is off road parking for 4 cars, and a rear and side lawned garden with furniture, BBQ and mountain views. With fishing available in the owners' 7 acre lake, and walking and cycling from the door, Hen Gapel is a wonderful Welsh retreat to relax and recharge.

Wonderful tranquil getaway from it all.stunning views!
Hen Gapel is a large cottage that has something for everyone! spacious , clean,Rural setting. Owner Jane , was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived.with complimentary cake, milk etc. This place has it all! before you rush out to buy things you might need...check out the cupboards.it seems to have everything.toilet rolls, washing products (ecco friendly)The views are stunning, a perfect base for visiting the surrounding areas. The garden is is large and well planted, but could benefit with a little cutting back, to make access easier.Nearest neighbours..sheep..which amble up and down outside the property.watch out for the farmer that passes every morning on his quad bike, with two sheep dogs sat on the back, a sight to be seen. The garden is secure for larger dogs, but not for tiny dogs.and if by chance you have a rainy week, like we did, snuggle up in the lounge in front of a blazing log fire, and read a book, also supplied upstairs in the upper lounge, something for everyone, and let the kids play on the games consul, play pool.or use one of the many games also supplied. All in all, a comfortable rural little piece of heaven!Thank you Jane ...for making our stay so memorable.

Peace and tranquility in the mountains
Hen Gapel is, without a doubt, our favourite holiday spot. The house is comfortable, clean and spacious, and ideal for our family get-together. The location is stunning with beautiful walks from the door and its very own lake for fishing and boating. We took an inflatable boat and fishing rods ? great fun. I also took (and filled) a sketchbook, full of inspiration for paintings. It's a bit of a drive to Harlech and Porthmadog and beyond, but that's the point! It's an easy drive though, and the beaches and landscape are stunning wherever you turn with Snowdon to the north, the Rhinogs to the south and miles of beautiful beaches. Jane, the owner, is very friendly, helpful, and welcoming (as was Alistair). We really enjoyed her lovely garden, which is perfect for the setting rural, and all the little extras she'd thought of. There is plenty of space to spread out and three bathrooms to avoid morning queues! The pool table was very popular and the decent wifi was welcome, as it enabled us to stay longer than we might have been able to without access to emails etc. Don't go if you are looking for people, shops, pubs and clubs ??you'll hate it. Do go if you want to get away from everyone and everything, just enjoy the beauty of your surroundings and find your peace. ps. Tesco Online deliver to the door so you don't even have to step foot in a supermarket ??we were amazed that they'd come all the way from Bangor for ?3!
