Sleeping six people in three bedrooms, this cottage is set in an elevated position near Shottle, close to Wirksworth in the Peak District.

Jebb Cottage is a quality terraced cottage with lovely country views, owned by the Chatsworth Estate, and close to Wirksworth. There are two twin bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. Downstairs is a double room with en-suite shower room, a basin and WC, and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside, the cottage has its own garden a little way from the property, as well as off road parking and shared use of a games room. With Chatsworth House, Alton Towers and the whole Peak District National Park close by, Jebb Cottage makes an ideal base for a family or friends, all year round.

The location was brilliant as was the relaxed feel of the property and the games room which was used every day.

Had a great week here - would recommend to families
Lovely location - convenient for walking in the Peak District and visiting all sorts of places from Alton Towers to Chatsworth House. On the road (B5023?) between the A517 and Wirksworth - you turn right onto Jebb Lane if heading toward Wirksworth. Might be hard to spot this turn if arriving in the dark. There are a group of converted farm buildings and Jebb Cottage occupies a single storey section plus a fair chunk of a double storey section. You do not hear your neighbours from inside as the walls are solid stone but everyone does face onto the courtyard. Jebb Cottage's private outside space is not that convenient as it is across the courtyard and behind the opposite building (used for storage) but it does have a lovely view. The cottage was clean and comfortable and spacious enough for our family of 5. I think it is more suited to families as the upstairs bathroom has only a bath and WC, no shower or shower attachment and the bath itself is not as big as the one I have at home. My teenage son ended up using our ensuite shower, my other two children happy enough with baths but some groups might not find this convenient. Also the sitting room would be "cosy" if you had six adults in there although we found it was fine for us. The master bedroom is downstairs and lovely and spacious with an ensuite (with shower). Other points worth mentioning - the wifi was great, the TV less so - quite small screen and only BBC2 and channels 4 and 5 (no big deal for us as we did not come there to watch TV). There are pubs and shops within about 4 miles, with everything you would need (the Co-op in nearby Wirksworth is pretty comprehensive). The stairs to upstairs are a little steep - again no problem for most people but worth bearing in mind if staying with elderly guests. Dishwasher is a compact one not full size. Washing machine is provided also iron, ironing board etc in downstairs WC/storage area. Plenty of hot water. Shared games room out the back also good for the children. Overall we were very happy there and I would happily book it again if we were to visit this particular area again. I have given a fairly detailed review as no one else has reviewed it on here yet.

The cottage was very well equipped, and everything we needed was available. It was as if it was someone's house - we were very impressed.
