Absolutely perfect place to get away from it all (but still have wi-fi!) The chalet is perfect for a couple with dogs and/or a small child (one bedroom). It's very well equipped and warm. Coming in October, we were prepared for the weather and brought books and DVDs (though there are plenty in the chalet). In spite of the wet and windy weather, we were out every day. Sanna Bay is only a mile away and is stunning. The local shop - Ferry Stores, Kilchoan, about 5 miles away - is very well stocked; you could live out of it for a week or two, but bring anything you'd REALLY miss. Sanna Spice (delivered) is a MUST - find it on Facebook. Good walks out of the front door eg to abandoned village of Glendrian. Ben Hiant about 7 miles from Kilchoan gives the best "bangs to the buck" of any mountain I've climbed - it's only a Marilyn, but the views are spectacular. MarcellaS543 2017-10-20
Unspoilt retreat. A great location to get away from it all. If you're looking for peace and quiet then this is the cottage for you. The cottage is deceivingly big, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. The scenery is spectacular and a mile walk to beautiful Sanna beach, which is stunning. Depending on the weather the landscape changes colour and you never get the same view twice.
There is a local shop a short drive away which stocks all your essentials but my advice would be to take everything you need with you. There is a pub/hotel, where we had Sunday lunch, which was expensive and very disappointing, a fabulous Indian takeaway that delivers to your door piping hot and delicious food. The Isle of Mull is a must and the ferry crossing is in easy reach.
The scenery on the drive up to the cottage is stunning but the last 50 - 60 miles is not for the faint hearted! It literally is one single track road all the way, with many sharp bends and blind summits. Be prepared for a long and hazardous last leg of the journey. tebb 2017-09-16
Perfect Peace in Ardnamurchan What a lovely place. A very large, well equipped wooden cabin, surrounded by fields and hills. Views of the small isles (Eigg, Rum, Muck and Canna) and the Cuillin hills of Skye in the distance, all absolutely beautiful. It is about a mile to the tiny village of Sanna, with a large sandy beach. On one day, we caught the ferry from Kilchoan to the beautiful town of Tobermory on the isle of Mull. We came home feeling very relaxed. I can't think of anything negative to say. cathandrichard12 2017-07-09
Sarah If you are looking to "get away from it all" this is the place. Craigard is well equipped and has everything you need to be comfortable. The location is perfect and in March we had great weather. Plenty of great hill walking nearby but Sanna beach is also wonderful - saw 2 young sea otters playing. Remember your binoculars to capture all the wildlife! Can't wait to return. Sarah B 2016-03-19
The owners were very nice to us, the scenery was spectacular and we were nice and cosy in the lodge. We will be back again, for sure. Mr Muirhead 2016-03-06
