The cottage was lovely and a great base for seeing Northumberland.
Mr Wilson

This cottage is full of character, comfy, cosy, great value for money and an excellent base for seeing Northumberland. We stayed for a week at the end of September and had an excellent week. Neil & Catherine were great hosts and not all intrusive - which is great considering the cottage is attached to their house. The facilities in the cottage were more than enough for two people. As someone else mentioned there is no wifi but we found it liberating & relaxing. There is a TV and DVD player if you need entertainment. The location is excellent and within an hours drive there are many many things to see & do. We filled a week easily and there is plenty more to see. Can recommend staying here and we are planning to visit again.

Friendly owner - on call, not popping in unless asked (Lives in main house, next door). Longhorsely itself is a quiet village but has a good pub, where some good grub is to be had, and a handy shop within easy walking distance. (They take newspaper orders and accept the tokens for them). No bath but one of the best showers I've found in hotel or guest-room Easy to control and plenty of pressure. If there is any drawback, there is no WiFi except for a rather weak signal BT Fon that is to be found occasionally. Also - not a big problem, we found, but the day before we left, a power mower had cut the grass in front of the cottage and in doing so, had moved one of the path slabs, making it a bit unstable. We took easy drives to Cragside, Holy Isle, Beamish (3 times, one ticket each which lasts for a year.) Barter Books, on the old train station at Alnwick, and 'The world's oldest railway, Tanfield. All very enjoyable trip - among many others available, Hadrian's wall for instance. It does have to be said, we *were* lucky with the weather. Some of those trips would have been less successful in the rain!

Location was great, very friendly people, lots of places to go. Very reasonable prices for everything. Fabulous scenery. Cottage was a delight to stay in, the village was perfectly located to get to places.
Mr Brooks

The property is set in a fantastic, quiet setting within easy access of all the major tourist attractions. The cottage is very clean, spacious and well equipped; the owners were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area and amenities, would not hesitate in returning.
