This semi-detached cottage in the village of Pembrey sleeps six people in three bedrooms.

School House is a semi-detached former school house situated in the South Wales village of Pembrey on the Gower Peninsula. With an upside down layout, this cottage sleeps six people in three ground floor bedrooms, consisting of one double with sofa bed, a twin and a family room with one double and one single, as well as a ground floor shower room. Upstairs there's a spilt-level open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with gas fire and balcony. Outside there's off road parking for two cars and a tiered lawned garden with furniture. School House is a convenient base for families and friends with open countryside and sandy beaches to explore nearby.

Lovely quirky cottage - beautiful and able to take our dogs.
The house being an old school house and upside down was really quirky, decorated in shabby chic style. The top floor was all open plan with a separate toilet and balcony with bistro style table and five chairs. The kitchen was large and well equipped although a little dis-organised with a lot of personal items around. There is a separate dining area with a large table and suitable for six people. The view is lovely from the dining room stretching across to the sea. The house was equipped with sky tv and a good size tv, radio cd player. Lots of comfortable seating on a large corner unit and two large bean bags. The bedrooms were all really large and very nicely decorated, lots of extra bedding available, the beds were very comfortable. The bedrooms could have benefited from some good mirrors. Good wardrobes in twin room and one double room and a hanging rail in the third bedroom. The third bedroom led directly out to the garden which was two tiered. The top tier was a good sized area and the large main garden on the bottom tier could be reached by a gate at the side of the house. The garden could have benefited from some comfortable garden furniture. But is was excellent for our three small dogs as it kept them contained. The immediate area was very quiet and peaceful. The down stairs had a full wet room, lovely decorated, equipped and spacious - lovely shower with good water pressure. There was a utility room that had a freezer, washing machine and sink, if needed. The house was very close to harbour, beach and park and was a great base for going further afield to Carmarthen (half hour away) Tenby (hour away). The owner was really lovely and friendly and was a call away for any help and advice. We took our three small dogs and the area is amazing for dogs walking on most of the beaches no matter what time of year and the large park close by for walking the dogs. Although we did have trouble finding a nice pub we could eat at where we could sit in the bar with the dogs. We did find one in close by Llansaint - Kings Arms which was brilliant. Also had difficulty finding somewhere to eat out on Sunday, even the couple of take aways near by seemed to close early on Sunday 8pm. Our visit to Tenby was totally different, loads of pubs and eating places you could take your dogs. Dogs were welcome in most places and water was available in the pubs for them and just out on the street. Now that is dog friendly.
