A beautiful rural retreat!
A fantastic place to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends. The location gave us a beautiful rural retreat but was not too far from some lovely places to walk, shop and drink. The cottage provided us with everything that we needed and the owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Myself and friends would love to stay at Lowfield Farm again.
Enjoyable weekend here for a quiet stag do. We found the owners helpful and accommodating not to mention hard-working.
A strange review from someone complaining about steps between room etc. The place is old, it has character and will be brought more up to date as they get round to it.
Plenty of room for all 17 blokes, space to BBQ and park all the cars. Lovely views and a great place to relax.
Recommend for a group looking to get away for a weekend and wish them well with future ventures (weddings etc)
A perfect little getaway
A great weekend had by all!
What a beautiful place! From the surrounding areas to the way the cottage was decorated we couldn't have asked for more!
18 of us stayed for a long weekend and the cottage was perfect, the large kitchen area was treat and the conservatory proved to be a nice break-out room for anyone wanting to relax and take in the views.
Thank you the for many great memories that have been created with our stay at Lowfields Farm!
Absolutely brilliant stay
I can't believe the last reviewers stayed in the same place! We were looking for someplace quiet and comfortable where we could write for the weekend and Lowfields turned out to be the perfect choice for us. It was in a stunning setting, with plenty of space and ample parking. The house itself was well appointed, comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean with lots of space so people could work or talk without getting in each other's way. The owners are nearby and very helpful and friendly. There is wonderful walking directly from the property and loads of things to see and do within easy reach. We thought the quiet location was one of its greatest assets - surely a short drive down a narrow road is a price worth paying for such a unique experience? We are already planning to go back!
Not good value for money
This property is marketed for sleeping 18. The living room seated 9 on very low sofas which were difficult to get out of. The lighting in the dining room was abysmal, complaints dismissed by the owner as being kept to wall mounted lights to be in keeping with the age of the property. Four bedrooms upstairs, potentially sleeping 12 people, had to share two shower rooms with toilet combined which was bad enough for 6 of us. One bedroom had no hot water to its basin. In the downstairs shower room there were no hooks for clothing or towels. The fridges were barely big enough for food for 9 for a long weekend, let alone 18. There are innumerable steps between the rooms within the property making it difficult for anyone with mobility problems. Access to the property is described as a single track road. Leaving the "main" road, it is barely more than a bridleway and runs for 3/4 mile with twists and turns and NO passing places, before it becomes a single track path on their land. A normal saloon car was brushing undergrowth on both sides. The courtyard where one parks cars is difficult to walk over, being loose stones and would be very difficult to push a wheelchair over.
