Not what we were expecting!!
On arrival we couldn't find the owner to obtain keys for access, we called 2 phone numbers before someone came out. I was informed that the key was in the door at the rear of the property, and received a half hearted handshake as he was turning away (not the best first impression). On entering the cottage there was a damp and musty smell. We also found the mattresses on the bed to be of poor quality. The following morning it became apparent that there were cockroaches in the kitchen area. Whilst on first impressions the property was as described (chocolate box) these issues took the shine off our stay resulting in us leaving 2 days early.

Longhouse Cottage had a beautiful exterior and interior. It was 5 star from beginning to end. We particularly liked the hospitality and warm welcome from the owner.

The owners were so welcoming and they went above and beyond what was expected. The kitchen was really well stocked. I will definitely recommend it and can't wait to return.
