A splendid wing of a former village Rectory, situated in the Llandyssil near Montgomery, with two bedrooms accommodating four people.

The Old Rectory Cottage is a holiday set within the wing of a former village Rectory, in the centre of the village of Llandyssil, two and a half miles from Montgomery in Mid Wales. The property has two bedrooms, including one double room with comfy seating and delightful views, as well as a twin room. The bathroom is modern with a bath and separate shower cubicle. On the ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area, plus a large, spacious sitting room housing a woodburning stove. From the kitchen is an enclosed courtyard where you can sit with your morning coffee, while a lawned garden to the front of the property is for your use only, with garden furniture and pretty views. There is also off road parking for two cars. The Old Rectory Cottage is a wonderful holiday retreat for friends and families exploring Powys, with easy access over the Wales England border into the Shropshire Hills AONB.

This is a lovely property in a beautiful area which was excellent value for money.
Mr Imeson

We liked the friendly welcome, everything you could wish for was in the cottage. The decor was really lovely and we found the place so relaxing. The beds were so comfortable that we slept better than at home. We came home saying it was one of the best holidays we have had.

A fantastic cottage situated in a gorgeous location.
Mr Ludlow

The owners have done a very good job of restoring and modernising this very old property, which we found to be both welcoming and cosy. The place was spotlessly clean, with an excellent range of new kitchen appliances, kitchen ware and a high level of comfort, all was well thought through. The place is massive and spacious with a good level of privacy and quiet. Excellent location for getting to many nice villages and towns.

Charming, homely, beautiful.... I love this place!
A charming and beautiful cottage (converted from part of the main building) set in glorious country side. It's quiet, with sheep for neighbours! Dawn and Gary made the perfect hosts, always there to help and suggest places to eat and visit; nothing was too much trouble! The cottage is commendably converted, which can't have been easy as I understand it's a listed building. The decor is simple but very elegant, with perfect finishing touches; soft plump fluffy towels and lovely soaps. Everything you need is there, and more! The kitchen is brilliantly equipped, you don't even need to bring tea towels! Dawn really has thought of everything to make your stay the perfect break a way from it all. Prepare to be chilled! We took our bikes and did a few lovely cycles rides along the canel and also through the Shropshire hills. That was one of the attractions of the cottage, the location was perfect for walking, cycling and even the sea isn't far away. There is always something to do, near by. The village of Montgomery is very close, with its stunning restaurant, The Checkers; a must for foodies! There's fish and chips, a small Spar store and a deli, open in the day time only. There's plenty of pubs and other eating places near by; Gary and Dawn will always point you in the right direction! Don't think about this cottage, BOOK it! You love it, and want to go back. I loved it so much, my parents have booked in too! When I need a safe haven to 'read' my Uni books, I'll be booking in, lighting the wood burning fire and snuggling up on the sofa! Perfect! Thank you again Dawn and Gary, and see you soon! (And I haven't even mentioned the bath!!)
