Rose Cottage is nestled in the centre of Bowness-On-Solway at the end of the Roman Wall on the edge of the Solway Firth, with the Scottish hills to the North and The Lakeland fells to the South. The property is a traditional cottage recently refurbished with a mix of contemporary & classic style. The lounge has a comfy leather sofa, flat screen TV, DVD & woodburner and leads through to a spacious dining area then on to the modern kitchen which is practical yet stylish with oak finishes.
Upstairs there are three generous bedrooms, one en-suite, and a family bathroom with roll-top bath. Outside is an enclosed and private seating and barbeque area and there is parking behind the cottage. Close to Carlisle yet in the peace and tranquility of a traditional Cumbrian village, Rose Cottage is in the ideal location to explore Cumbria and The Lake District.
North Cumbria and the Solway have a huge historical importance and there is evidence of this everwhere you visit, from the village church to the remains of Hadrian's Wall. There are some fantastic walks from the door, including along the remains of Hadrian's Wall, so you can leave your car at the cottage. Alternatively you are a short drive from many interesting sites which we can recommend (or head into Carlisle for a day's shopping!).
If you are a family we welcome you to visit our home farm, only ten minutes away, where the children will be introduced to the various animals. We do accept up to two well-behaved dogs but we kindly ask that they remain downstairs on the tiled areas
