Self Catering in Devon - Dulverton
Sleeps a maximum of: 5
Pricing From: £450.00 - 500.00
Comfortable old cottage, deep in unspoilt Devon countryside 5 miles from Exmoor's village of Dulverton. The cottage is quiet and peaceful with a large enclosed grassy garden. The furniture is comfortable and unfussy so holiday makers can relax.
Beautiful walks through lanes and woods. Main bedroom upstairs has attractive brass double bed. Also upstairs is a smaller room with single bed (duvet).
Thirdly, the bathroom with bath, washbasin and loo. The short but slightly twisty carpeted stairs have a secure child gate at the top and a firm banister. Downstairs is the sitting room with wood burning stove, a 'kitchen' table, colour TV and attractive Welsh dresser.
Off sitting room is another bedroom with single beds (duvets). Also off the sitting room is a small, well-equipped galley-style kitchen with family size electric cooker, microwave and fridge with small integral ice-making compartment. The cottage also a laundry room with second lavatory, basin, washing machine and dryer.
It is an easy-to-live-in cottage enjoyed by owners' own family and many visiting families some of whom have become so attached to it they almost consider it their own! Available Easter - end of September. 3 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin, 1 single. Upstairs bathroom with loo.
Sitting room with colour tv, wood burning stove. Also separate loo downstairs as part of laundry room where there is a washing machine and dryer. Electric storage heating and logs included in price.
Simple arden furniture. Parking. There are lovely walks from the cottage and one of the regular tenants has given the cottage his unique books of 'Charlie's Walks' - tried and tested over his 30 years of visits to our cottage with his family.
There are short, medium and long walks, each with a map, some are straight out from the cottage; others requiring a drive to the starting point. Staying in Benbrook cottage is a real country holiday. There are deer (sometimes in the garden), woodpeckers, rabbits and all manner of birds.
The cafes in Dulverton and Bampton have internet connection. Our cottage does not, although mobiles seem to work well. The ground floor of the cottage is tiled so children can come in and out with muddy feet without it mattering too much.
Obviously we ask holidaymakers to leave the cottage as spotlessly clean as they found it and, if they have pets, to bring the dogs' own beds and 'throws' and not allow the dogs on the furniture or beds. It's a lovely place for children and dogs! Thank you.
