Never Again!
Me and my parents are currently waiting for a new property to be built as we have moved out of Wales so we needed a place to stay with our pet cat. It's quite hard to find somewhere that accepts pets. My parents booked this place as it was the only one in our price range that accepted a cat and had availability. I arrived first and the owner was very kind with leaving cat treats and various essentials eg milk and butter. However once I had walked around I noticed mould in the fridge, the washing machine filled with water and rusted, the shower cubicle was filthy and cracks down the walls and wet stains on the bathroom walls, while unpacking I also noticed somebody's dirty socks in the drawer which I binned straight away. Once all unpacked we just tried to get on for the next month until we went to our next holiday let (which is much better for an even cheaper price!). However the oven broke after two weeks and was not repaired for a week so we could only use the gas hob and microwave. Also the whole cottage was cut off power and we didn?t know where the fuse box was so had to wait til the morning til the owner could fix the issue. Due to having a black cat we needed to hoover regularly and the hoover in the cottage barely did anything so we used our dyson and it was emptied when we started and we only did a very brief hoover in the living room and corridor and the hoover was 3/4 full from the carpets after a 5 minute hoover!! The conservatory doesn?t look like it's been cleaned in about 2 years because there's cobwebs everywhere and spiders in the corner. The sofas don't have the best support and the single beds need a better mattress. I?m not usually a negative reviewer so I will add some positives: the wifi was brilliant and very easy to connect to, theres a lush pub in walking distance called the riverside (honestly try the food it's great), the TVs in all rooms were a great touch and parking is good but I would say only 1 car could park here as we had two and the two neighbouring bungalows struggled getting past and we had a ka and a Mondeo. Overall I would say this needs to be taken off the market and refurbished to match the price that's being charged, there are much better and cleaner places around cheddar and in Somerset.

Perfectly located, wonderful welcome, super stay
Chose this property to rent based on it being dog friendly and didn't realise just how well located it was right in the heart of Cheddar. Everything was an easy walk. The host made sure the fridge had milk and butter and even a little birthday cake as one of our party had a birthday. The house is spacious and light. Beds very comfortable and lovely linen. Honestly can't recommend this property enough.
