Snowdon Mountain Railway, Snowdonia National Park

North Wales Self Catering cottages

Here is a browseable listing of our self catering cottages in North Wales (Gwynedd), including the scenic splendour of Snowdonia (select North West Wales), and the lovely island of Anglesey. Please select your desired location from the menu below, or use the search form to the right. For alternative accommodation, see our North Wales hotel guide, and for suggestions on what to see and do in the area, visit our North Wales Travel Guide

Our top tips for visiting north Wales include hiking to the peak of Mount Snowdon. This can be as simple or as vigorous as you like; our favourite route is the path that winds up from the youth hostel at Pen y Pass, but there are several easier routes, including the popular path from Llanberis that follows the route of the Snowdon Mountain Railway. But if exertion isn't your cup of tea, there are any number of historic sites to visit, incuding castles at Conwy, Caernarfon, and Dolwyddelan. Visit Anglesey, and the historic lighthouse and bird sanctuary at South Stack, Holyhead, or the moated ruins of Beaumaris Castle. There are stately homes at Plas Newydd and Penrhyn, near Bangor, but ultimately the chief pleasure of north Wales is the stunning scenery of Snowdonia National Park, in all its splendour. You'll love it!

Alternative accommodation: Hotels - Bed & Breakfast

Featured historic attraction in Gwynedd:

Conwy Castle
Conwy Castle - Conwy, Gwynedd, Wales
Begun in 1283, bristling with eight round towers and two barbicans. The castle's defensive walls extend to take in the entire medieval core of Conwy town. Edward I considered the site of such strategic importance in his conquest of the Welsh that he rushed craftsmen to Conwy from all over England, and the castle was erected in just one summer of frantic work. The result is one of the most imposing fortresses in all of … ... more
