North Wales Self Catering cottages

Here is a browseable listing of our self catering cottages in North Wales (Gwynedd), including the scenic splendour of Snowdonia (select North West Wales), and the lovely island of Anglesey. Please select your desired location from the menu below, or use the search form to the right. For alternative accommodation, see our North Wales hotel guide, and for suggestions on what to see and do in the area, visit our North Wales Travel Guide

Our top tips for visiting north Wales include hiking to the peak of Mount Snowdon. This can be as simple or as vigorous as you like; our favourite route is the path that winds up from the youth hostel at Pen y Pass, but there are several easier routes, including the popular path from Llanberis that follows the route of the Snowdon Mountain Railway. But if exertion isn't your cup of tea, there are any number of historic sites to visit, incuding castles at Conwy, Caernarfon, and Dolwyddelan. Visit Anglesey, and the historic lighthouse and bird sanctuary at South Stack, Holyhead, or the moated ruins of Beaumaris Castle. There are stately homes at Plas Newydd and Penrhyn, near Bangor, but ultimately the chief pleasure of north Wales is the stunning scenery of Snowdonia National Park, in all its splendour. You'll love it!

Cymer Castle
Cymer Castle - Llanelltyd, Gwynedd, Wales
The town of Cymer is better known for its medieval abbey, but there is a more martial remain in Cymer. The motte castle was in existence by 1116, though little is known about its origins beyond the name of its builder, Uchdryd ab Edwin. The motte is now overgrown with vegetation, though there are scanty masonry remains. ... more
