Situated in a peaceful village setting Stratton Gardens is a large Grade II listed house set in grounds of half an acre backing onto Cornish countryside. Ideally situated for exploring Cornwall and Devon walking cycling golf bird watching surfing or just unwinding Stratton Gardens is a peaceful hideaway only minutes from Bude s sandy beaches and the dramatic North Cornwall coast.

All of our spacious bedrooms and en suite bathrooms have been recently fully refurbished to the highest standard of comfort and style. Each bedroom has either twin kingsize or super-kingsize bed luxury 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen flat screen television dvd/cd player Ipod dock free wi-fi access hair dryer and hospitality tray with a selection of Fair Trade teas and coffee and fresh milk. Our delicious locally sourced breakfast includes vegetarian and gluten free options.

We have a breakfast award from Enjoy England. Enjoy our secluded terraced gardens large comfortable lounge with open fire and licensed bar. Spa treatments are available in-house from our qualified holistic therapist in our dedicated treatment room.

Death of St Edmund

A Danish force under Ivar defeated and killed Edmund, king of the East Angles, at Hoxne, Suffolk. Edmund was later sanctified as St Edmund. His death is a frequent theme in medieval wall paintings, where he is represented tied to a stake, while Danish archers shoot at him.
