Marazion Heritage Snapshot
Marazion's unusual name came about as a result of the markets that have been held here since at least 1070. Though the most common explanation for the town name is that it means 'Market jew', a more likely explanation is that the name derives from the Cornish term, Marghaisewe, or 'Thursday market'.
