Welcome to Virginia Cottage Guest House, a pretty traditional stone and slate build guest house set in Bowness on Windermere, the heart of the English Lake District. This comfortable, friendly, family run guesthouse is the ideal base from which to explore some of the Lake District's finest scenery, made famous by such people as Wordsworth and Coleridge. Cruise and enjoy the facilities that Lake Windermere has to offer.
Spend your days discovering beautiful hidden places and marvelling at the landscapes that enchant whatever the season - lush greenery of the forests and fells in the summer and snow capped mountains in winter. Then relax and unwind in the evening either splashing about at the Parklands Country Club (swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna) free to all our guests or sample some of the fine cuisine on offer in our many restaurants. Later, try one or two of the quaint pubs around and about in Bowness.
All of our guest rooms are ensuite and well equipped and some have views over the village, surrounding fells and Lake Windermere. Complimentary sherry is available in the guest lounge. At Virginia Cottage, we know that a hearty breakfast is the best way to start the day. We offer a traditional English breakfast and a vegetarian option. For a lighter alternative there is a choice of croissants, waffles, pancakes and crumpets – something for everyone.
Free parking and free wifi for guests.
Please Note: We are a No-Smoking property. Small domestic pets allowed. Regrettably we can't accommodate children under 14. Check-In time: 13:00 and Check-Out time: 10:00.
