Luxury bandb Lake District. New House Farm is located in the real Lake District peace and beauty without the crowds. Magnificent walking and stunning scenery all around combined with warm hospitality and excellent food

New House Farm is situated in the beautiful Lorton Vale in the North West Corner of the Lake District National Park. The Property lies between the villages of Lorton and Buttermere nine miles due west of Keswick and six miles south of Cockermouth on the B5289.The House dates back to 1650 when it was part of Lord Egremont's Cumberland Estate

The original name of the property is not known but records show it as New House Farm as early as 1832.Period features now discovered include oak beams and rafters flagged floors and stone open fireplaces. The house and adjoining barn (where we serve delicious home made lunches and teas throughout the year in the splendour of an original cow byre adorned with farming artefacts of a bygone era) are Listed Grade II

Outside there are 15 acres of open fields woods streams and ponds which guests may wander around. There are spectacular Lakeland views all around particularly of Swinside and Dodd glowing red on a late summers evening or that of Melbreak rising up at the end of the valley.After a long days walk why not enjoy the relaxing Hot Tub in the garden

Better still have a bottle of Champagne under the stars whilst there - many do!

Directions:
New House Farm is situated in the beautiful Lorton Vale in the North West Corner of the Lake District National Park. The Property lies between the villages of Lorton and Buttermere nine miles due west of Keswick and six miles south of Cockermouth on the B5289.Exit Junction 40 on the M6 and head west on the A66. Bypass Keswick and turn left onto the B5292 at Braithwaite. Go over Whinlatter Pass to Lorton and join the B5298 south to ScaleHill and Loweswater. We are 2 miles south of Lorton on the left hand side.
