A luxury bed and breakfast located in the real Lake District. Peace and beauty without the crowds. Magnificent walking and stunning scenery all around combined with warm hospitality and excellent food
New House Farm offers luxury bed and breakfast accommodation in the real Lake District. Enjoy peace and beauty without the crowds. There is magnificent walking and stunning scenery all around combined with warm hospitality and excellent food. New House Farm is situated in the beautiful Lorton Vale in the North West Corner of the Lake District National Park. The property lies between the villages of Lorton and Buttermere, nine miles due west of Keswick and six miles south of Cockermouth on the B5289. New House Farm has five deluxe rooms. Period features now discovered include oak beams and rafters, flagged floors and stone open fireplaces. The house and adjoining barn are Grade II listed. After a long day's walk why not enjoy the relaxing Hot Tub in the garden. Better still have a bottle of Champagne under the stars whilst there! The house dates back to 1650 when it was part of Lord Egremont's Cumberland Estate. The original name of the property is not known but records show it as New House Farm as early as 1832. Outside there are 15 acres of open fields, woods, streams and ponds which guests may wander around. There are spectacular Lakeland views all around, particularly of Swinside and Dodd glowing red on a late summer's evening, or that of Melbreak rising up at the end of the valley. The area has some of the most stunning scenery and views in the country.
