For those seeking more active pastimes, many different activities are available in the Lake District and other nearby National Parks. Directions:
When approaching Shap Wells from most directions you should join the M6 and travel to junction 39. When Travelling from Kendal take the A6 north over Shap Fell after about 12 miles the hotel's advance warning sign will be seen. The hotel drive is about 34 of a mile further on on the right. When travelling form the east on the A66 take the A685 at Brough through Kirkby Stephen and Tebay (about 16 miles) then join the M6 north to junction 39. FROM JUNCTION 39 ON THE M6On leaving the M6 take the road signed for KENDAL.After 910 mile turn left at the 'T' juction sign for Shap Wells Hotel and Kendal.After 210 miles the hotel's advance warning sign will be on the left.After 12 a mile turn left into the hotel drive there is a sign opposite the turning.The hotel drive is a mile long single-track road.The hotel comes into view in the last few hundred yards of the drive.
