Regent by the Lake Hotel, Ambleside

Accommodation Description:
On the shores of Lake Windermere, personally managed by the Hewitt family, traditional service, modern comforts and superb food combine to produce the perfect balance between quality and hospitality in this three star hotel. Relax in the heated indoor pool or outside in our flower filled courtyard with a reviving drink and contemplate the events of the day and evening menu. Dining is a vital part at The Regent Hotel and the head chef combines fresh local produce with traditional Cumbrian influences into a modern British style

All this is complimented by the extensive wine list. There is plenty to see and do in and around the Lakes, such as The Beatrix Potter Museum, Cruises on Lake Windermere, shopping in Ambleside and nearby Bowness, and for the ramblers many pleasant walks around the Fells. All 30 bedrooms are ensuite and beautifully appointed

Some rooms have a country feel while others are contemporary in style. Whatever your tastes the rooms appeal to all. The superior rooms are situated in the courtyard or overlooking the gardens and The Sail Loft is in particular a room with its own quaintness

Please note this hotel is completely non-smoking. If guests smoke in the bedrooms a charge of up to 1 night accommodation may apply. The restaurant is designed to create a tranquil setting for a pleasant relaxing meal and once again is guaranteed to suit all from the vast range of dishes available

The menu changes seasonally and is complimented with a specials board. Three courses and coffee costs from a mere £27.50 per person

The indoor pool is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of either walking, shopping or sightseeing, and is open all year round. The Lake is right outside the front door from which you can catch a boat across to Bowness on Windermere further down the Lake. The shops of Ambleside are a ten minute stroll away
