A LUXURY SELF-CONTAINED NON-SMOKING SUITE IN A 17th CENTURY GRADE II LISTED JACOBEAN MANSION SET IN OVER 6 ACRES OF PRIVATE GROUNDS.
You get a feeling of the informal grandeur which is Orton Hall from the time you enter through the gates and travel down the driveway with views of the hall and some of it's grounds.
This is enhanced as you enter the wood panelled hallway (where the entrance to Cromwell is located) and on through to the wood panelled "Great Hall".
"Cromwell" has been created from a number of the original mansions ground floor rooms.
The suite overlooks the front gardens, and still retains a number of period features such as the magnificent fire surround and high ceilings.
The suite has recently been totally refurbished to provide luxury accommodation which now briefly includes: Lounge with Dining area overlooking the front gardens, leather suite, widescreen TV, DVD player, Hi-Fi.
The magnificent fire surround is a principal feature of the room.
Kitchen which has fully fitted units and ceramic hob, fan oven, fridge and microwave.
Bedroom overlooking a part of the rear garden, with King Size Bed, luxury matress and built in wardrobes.
Ensuite Bathroom recently totally refurbished including bath with shower over.
In addition to the Suite, all guests have use of the extensive grounds plus the wood panelled "Great Hall" with comfortable seating, Grand Piano and (free) Pool/Snooker Table.
We also provide a selection of varied interest books and guides, music CD's and Film DVD's for guests' use.
A perfect place for a relaxing stay, Orton Hall is located close the village of Orton with its Post Office & shop, country pub/hotel and famous chocolate factory plus a church dating from the 13th century.
Both the suite and the whole of Orton Hall and Grounds are designated non-smoking.
The Hall is surrounded by glorious countryside and it is also within an easy drive to the National Parks of both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
Additionally the beautiful Eden Valley and the unspoilt Howgill fells are also very close.
Alfred Wainwright described Orton as "one of the loveliest of Westmorland's villages, a delightful rural settlement built around a central green with two streams crossed by many footbridges and having numerous venerable buildings and a fine church on a hill overlooking tranquil countryside".
The Suite is self-catering but meals are available in both the Village Pub & TearoomsPlease note that stays are for a minimum of two nights (except at Public Holiday periods when a minimum of 3 nights applies).
