Ireby Heritage Snapshot
There are two churches in Ireby, but you have to really hunt to find the most historic one! Ireby Old Church sits alone in a farm field, abandoned but for an annual service. The church dates to the late 12th century, and features some lovely Norman arcading and narrow lancet windows. Two nave columns that once served as gateposts in the village have been re-erected outside the west door.
