Compton House is situated in the charming historic market town of Ashborne. We are a family run guest house with accent on good food and quality accommodation with a warm, friendly atmosphere. Great breakfasts including sausage, bacon, eggs and milk all produced locally in the Peak District

Home made jams and marmalades. Originally our home was three terraced cottages, which have been converted into one, rather individual house and has been our home since 1986. Ashbourne has a 9 hole golf course, Leisure Centre offering squash, swimming and a gym

Tennis courts and bowling greens can be found in our pleasantly situated park and gardens, all within easy walking distance of the guest house. There is sailing, wind surfing and canoeing available at Carsington Water only 5 miles away. Cycles can be hired from the centre on the Tissington Trail, just five minutes walk from Compton House

Cycles are also available at Carsington Water. Ashbourne offers an ideal base for touring the Peak District National Park (the first national park in England formed in 1951) by car, or walking in our famous Dovedale, Milldale, or many other beauty spots of the area.
