The Painted Hall boasts some quite staggeringly beautiful wall paintings, of which this is one...

and still another. The richness of the colour and detail is hard to appreciate at this scale, but in person the effect is quite marvellous

The Oak Room is the oldest room in the house. It is richly furnished, with carvings and panelling bought by the 6th Duke from a German monastery.

Classical statuary

Very striking statuary of a foot. It is hard to get a senmse of scale from this photo, but the piece is about 5 feet long.
