The 3 AA Star Izaak Walton Hotel is situated between the picturesque villages of Ilam and Thorpe nestled within the Derbyshire Peaks. This converted 17th Century Country House Hotel offers comfort luxury history and wonderful views over the Peak District. Within an hour of major motorways (M1 and M6) this hotel is the perfect place to get away from it all without having to travel too far.

Free parking is available at the hotel. The Izaak Walton Hotel has 38 spacious and individually designed rooms making the most of interesting period features in two categories Classic and Superior. All the rooms have been refurbished since 2015 in order to maximise guest comfort.

Most rooms have views of the Dovedale Valley or the hotel gardens and all have tea and coffee making facilities featuring coffee bags from The Little Coffee Bag Company complimentary still bottled water Ringtons biscuits luxury toiletries digital TVs and complimentary WiFi. The Izaak Walton proudly boasts an AA Rosette winning restaurant The Haddon Restaurant. One of the top fine dining restaurants in Derbyshire all dishes are created using locally sourced ingredients and enhanced with an excellent selection of fine wines from respected worldwide vineyards.

Guests can also choose to dine in the Dovedale Bar with its warm and cosy atmosphere it is perfect for more casual dining or simply enjoying a pre or post dinner drink. If you would like to venture out while you stay here Ilam Park is only a 5 minute drive away or if you're feeling fit you could walk it in just over 20 minutes as are the Dovedale stepping stones and from there guests can explore the Dovedale National Nature Reserve. For those that like moments of quiet contemplation the hotel offers fishing on one of the finest Derbyshire Trout Streams where it owns the fishing rights where there is a healthy population of fish including wild brown trout the fishing is both challenging and rewarding to both wet and dry fly.

For those that like a bit more thrill Alton Towers is only a 20 minute drive away.
