Accommodation Description:

Tucked away in the thatched village of Cockington our VB 4* Silver Award country house nestles at the heart of Cockington Country Park and a short stroll to the sea and Torquay - somewhere special.

Lanscombe House has a VB 4* Silver Award and is tucked away within the famous preserved thatched village of Cockington surrounded by 450 acres of Cockington Country Park. We are certainly that somewhere special to stay - offering just eight individual quality ensuite rooms in a relaxed country house ambiance. We are in one of the best locations in Torquay - peaceful yet just a short stroll to the coast - a world apart from the hustle and bustle of Torquay town.

We are just moments away from the Devon coastline and all the many attractions; while within the Country Park we have miles of rural walks, a Craft Studios, horse drawn carriage rides and a number of top quality tearooms and a pub. Close by are many excellent restaurants (from Michelin Stars to family run bistros) and hidden country pubs. Breakfast is included in our rates using local or West Country produce when possible.

We do not accept stag or hen groups. Our listed former Dowagers House retains its original character with individually styled ensuite bedrooms including king-size, twin and four posters. There is a sunny breakfast room, elegant guest lounge with a log fire on those chilly evenings, a cosy bar and secure parking - we are strictly no smoking inside.

The gardens are secluded behind a high wall and are a good spot to relax in and watch the local wild life including the ravens, herons and the occasional badger or fox.
