The Old Church at Travellers Rest in North Devon dates back to 1866 and was still in use until 1970. Constructed of local stone with a terracotta tiled roof it presides over the small hamlet of Travellers Rest, an old stage coach stop on the way from Barnstaple to the North Devon Coast. During the mid 1970's the church was lovingly restored and adapted to become the small manor home it is today. Situated in a peaceful rural setting the church enjoys wonderful south facing views over rolling countryside. Victorian gothic doors, a hand painted rood screen, leaded windows, large stone fireplace and panelled staircase are just some of the marvellous original features to see and enjoy. The Old Church is just 7 miles from Barnstaple and South Molton and is ideally situated for all the best North Devon attractions.
