Winding along the Exe valley road from Tiverton with soaring forested hills on one side and the sparkling River Exe on the other you come upon the ancient village of Bampton. Heron House is a delightful Georgian town house offering luxury bed and breakfast accommodation for the discerning traveller.

This comfortable, stylish and friendly house offers all you could want, a home from home, and then some. Guests can unwind on a generous sofa in front of a roaring log fire in the drawing room perhaps enjoying a cream tea or a drink before dinner or on the south facing terrace during warm summer days. Bampton in mid Devon lies close to the Somerset border, and is on the edge of the Exmoor National Park

For the visitor, it is therefore ideally sited for road and rail links, and is at the centre of an area where there is much to do and explore. The whole of the centre of Bampton is a conservation area The Exmoor National Park in the perfect place for riding – hacking, trekking, or hunting. Within the National Park boundaries are some 400 miles (600kms) of bridleways

There a number of famous high bird shoots and syndicated and Farmers shoots close to Dulverton, where days can be purchased including: Miltons, Chargot, Haddeo, West Molland, Molland & Wellshead. Travel over Exmoor with expert guides viewing the local wild life, agriculture, history and archaeology.
