Welcome to Varley House a 4 Guest House delightfully situated overlooking a nature reserve and the spectacular North Devon coast of Ilfracombe. Varley House was built at the turn of the 19th Century to revitalise and refresh officers returning from the Boer War. The elegance of its generously proportioned rooms and stylish furnishings are typical of the gracious age in which it was built.

We have our own car park and sunny garden and are situated opposite Hillsborough Nature Reserve which overlooks the harbour where you can now visit Damien Hirst s Statue Verity itself a short stroll away. There are plenty of attractive and exciting things to see and do locally. Varley House is perfectly complemented by the quality courtesy and warmth of the hospitality you will enjoy here from the moment you arrive whether you are planning a really active few days or a restful break.

Varley House offers you a unique friendly atmosphere and the soothing surroundings essential for a relaxing holiday. All of our rooms are en-suite except for the single which has its own private bathroom. Wireless internet access is now available.

Please note that we are a no-smoking property. Check-in time: 15:00 and Check-out time 10.00. Family rooms are based upon children under 14 years of age.

Many attractions can be found nearby including Museum Gallery Aquarium Hele Corn Mill Chambercombe Manor Cinemas and Theatre offering a wide choice of entertainment throughout the year. NORTH DEVON & EXMOOR WALKING FESTIVAL.

The North Devon and Exmoor Walking Festival has a good choice of guided walks on offer. The walks range from about 4 miles to 10 miles long taking in our beautiful coast.
