Arguably the finest town church in Devon, a medieval gem built by Bishop Grandisson of Exeter in 1342 as a copy of Exeter Cathedral. Ornate 14th-century tombs of Grandisson's brother and sister-in-law, a 14th-century clock, and ornate medieval vaulting are just part of the charm of this wonderful historic building.

An ancient church in a dramatic setting on cliffs overlooking Stoke Bay, St Peter the Poor Fisherman is traditionally thought to date to Saxon times, though subsequent examination can only verify an early medieval date. The information panel carefully says only that it was built 'at some time prior to the 13th century'.
