From: £59.00 Moorlands Country House, designated non-smoking, is situated below Haytor Rocks, one of the best known landmarks of the Dartmoor National Park. Its setting, on the wild open spaces of Dartmoor, was the inspiration for Agatha Christie's first book, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. The 32 en-suite bedrooms look out over the rolling Devon countryside and the eight acres of ground where guests can also enjoy a game of croquet The bedrooms are equipped with a hairdryer, clock radio and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. Televisions and telephones are not provided in the bedrooms. Guests can relax in the two lounges and bar or play table tennis in the games room Meals are served in an informal, friendly atmosphere at tables for up to eight guests. A three-course dinner is served at 7 to 7.30pm for a charge of 18 GBP per person If you would like to dine at the country house please contact the house before 6pm to make your dinner reservation. A choice of full English or continental breakfast is offered. To allow you to make the most of your touring or walking holiday, a self-select picnic lunch can be provided for the small charge of 10 GBP per person Free car parking is available. Please notify the country house in advance if you intend to arrive after 10.30pm Bedrooms are available from 2.30pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure With its stunning location, Moorlands is an excellent base for those on an activity or walking holiday. Other nearby attractions include Compton castle and castle Drogo, Buckland Abbey and Becky Falls Woodland park.
