The Fox Inn was built over 250 years ago as the home of Charles Hall. In 1777 Charles Hall founded the Ansty Brewery at the same time as troops were assembling on the Dorsetshire coast anticipating a French invasion during the Napoleonic wars. The Brewery secured government contracts to supply ale to the troops and quickly grew.Although set deep in the Dorset countryside the Fox Inn is ideally situated within easy access of a host of diverse leisure activities. Visit our region and discover 150km of breathtaking coastline - most of which comprises the Jurassic Coast, England's only UNESCO natural World Heritage Site - , the ancient hunting ground of the National Park of The New Forest, and some of the country's finest rural countryside, a large part of which is officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
