The Bridge House Hotel is situated on the eastern edge of Bridport town centre; next to the River Asker and gardens which follow the river's course. It is a town house built in 1760 to accommodate a religious order of dissenting ministers. Only recently converted to an hotel in the 1980's; it still contains many interesting features and character.
Bridport is an ideal centre for a touring holiday. It is a market town of Saxon origin with exceptionally wide streets. The Bridport Museum in South Street has exhibits illustrating the history of the town and locality; including its archaeology and geology. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday. One and a half miles south of the town is the quaint harbour of West Bay with its shingle beaches under towering cliffs and a small promenade and is the beginning of the Chesil Beach which ends at Portland. Facilities exist in the vicinity for Golfing; Fishing; (both sea and fresh water); Riding; Boating; Walking etc.
All rooms have en-suite facilities and wi-fi access; whilst the lounge offers quiet elegance for relaxation and the bar lounge the facility to invite conversation for residents and invited friends. A fine restaurant complements the traditional ambiance of the hotel; and the wine list complements the regularly changed a-la-carte and daily changed table d'hote menus prepared with fresh produce by the homely chef.
We are open throughout the year; offering short breaks and weekly holidays; as well as the facilities that a visitor needs whilst on business in West Dorset including "off road" car parking.
