The Heritage, Weymouth

Accommodation Description:
Waking..

to the sound of birdsong and village tranquillity; being within ..

walking distance of the Chesil Fleet and the World Heritage coast; and being well-located for the region's major towns and ..

business hubs - welcome to The Heritage Restaurant and Rooms.

Enjoy the tranquil village setting - a refreshing change after the frenzy of a busy day; our leisure visitors relish the country and coastal walks straight from our door; our restaurant regulars appreciate the off-road parking and out-of-town, relaxed pace. And our location is just one of the many things that make staying at The Heritage a pleasure. West Dorset is steeped in history and beauty and offers endless opportunities for discovery and relaxation

The unique 17-mile long Chesil Beach which forms the natural inland Fleet (above), the numerous sites made famous by Thomas Hardy, even "lighthearted" attractions like the Teddy Bear Museum in Dorchester..

your visit to the area will not seem long enough. Weymouth's popularity as a seaside resort is attributed to King George 111 who came to bathe in the sea as a health cure for his nervous disorder. Between 1789 and 1805 the King and members of the Royal Family spent 14 holidays in Weymouth

The beach is superb and consists of sand which sweeps around the bay changing to shingle along the extended promenade. Weymouth's famous sand modeller always attracts interest. Weymouth has much more to offer than just the beach

As one would expect of a coastal resort, water sports feature prominently in the list of activities - as has been underlined by its selection for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. With excellent wind conditions all year round the waters of Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour have a magnetic appeal for windsurfers and dinghy sailors, and divers come to the area to explore the wrecks lying around the coast. As one of the top angling venues in the country Weymouth offers all types of fishing, from the child's rod dangled from the pier to deep sea fishing trips which can be booked from one of the charter boats in the harbour

Golf, cycling, walking, bowling, swimming - the list of opportunity for sport is endless.
