Accommodation Description:
From the early days in 1959 when the Cross Street was a coffee bar, Robert Finn has been running this same establishment. The heady, hey days of the 60’s passed in a psychedelic rush of business as it boomed right through the 70’s until in 1980, Robert decided a change was due. From then, 13 Cross Street has been a guest house and gained an incredible reputation for its warm welcome that brings back guests year after year.

From the early days in 1959 when the Cross Street was a coffee bar, Robert Finn has been running this same establishment. The heady, hey days of the 60’s passed in a psychedelic rush of business as it boomed right through the 70’s until in 1980, Robert decided a change was due. From then, 13 Cross Street has been a guest house and gained an incredible reputation for its warm welcome that brings back guests year after year.Situated in a quiet, tranquil street yet just a short distance from the vibrancy of both Hove and Brighton’s busy centres, the non-smoking Cross Street Guest House offers a welcome haven in this exciting area. With 11 rooms offering comfort, en-suite rooms, atmosphere and all the facilities you could need, The Cross Street is your ideal base. It is just a five minute walk to the sea and within easy reach on foot or by regular bus services to the shops, bars, clubs, cinema, museums, water sports, restaurants, marina and more.Brighton and Hove found fame and longevity as a seaside resort in the 18th century, when the resort led the way to the fascinating (at the time) act of sea bathing. The popularity of this area soared when it became the favourite haunt of the Prince of Wales (later George IV), in 1784, transforming the quaint, original village of Brighthelmstone into a resort of world class. He kept his secret wife, Mrs Fitzherbert, here and commuted to London, as many people still do today. The old town centre is preserved and retains the character and charm that George and Mrs. Fitzherbert must have loved. The famous Lanes still have small cottages in the twisting lanes, brimming with antique shops, cafes and bookshops. Please Note: We are a No-Smoking property. We do not accept stag or hen groups. Regrettably, we cannot accept pets. Children welcome. Check-In time: 14:00 and Check-Out time: 10:00.
