Once referred to as being 'invitingly snug', the house still retains the feel of a private home with luxuriously decorated rooms, an abundance of fresh flowers and fruit in the comfortable lounges, bedrooms where you are pampered with fine linen, fluffy towels & robes, local spring water & home made biscuits, and warm & caring staff, all the comforts of home.Our location makes Esseborne an ideal centre for easy day touring to the many lovely gardens and houses that abound in the south and such historic places such as Salisbury with its mighty spired cathedral, Winchester, the ancient capital of Wessex, mystical Stonehenge, Highclere Castle, home of the late Earl of Carnarvon, the Earl of Pembroke's Milton House and Broadlands, former home of the late Lord Louis Mountbatten.The Bourne Valley is in an area designated one of outstanding natural beauty with its river meandering through rich farmland of sheep filled meadows & thatched villages with ancient churches & character pubs. Close by the historic cities of Winchester & Salisbury, mystical Stonehenge and Highclere Castle are well worth a visit. Three acres of gardens surround the hotel where tennis and croquet can be played. The herb garden provides an ideal retreat on a summer day.Please Note: Non-smoking.
