Winchester Travel GuideBy roadWinchester is well served by roads, with the M3 motorway providing a very quick drive from London. London - M3 National Express provides regular coach access from London, Heathrow, Oxford and Southampton. www.nationalexpress.co.uk/ If you drive to Winchester, be aware that the city core has a network of one-way streets, which is not always intuitive to navigate, and parking on the street may be difficult to find! The city council operates 29 parking lots, plus a park and ride scheme. The nearest major airport is at Southampton (Eastleigh Airport), with good connections to London and the continent. London Heathrow is 50 miles away, and London Gatwick is 72 miles. Trains from London Waterloo provide regular rail service. The trip takes about 55 minutes.
