But in no way intimidating, a very friendly and warm welcome awaits you Refurbishment work completed in December 2006 has given the building a new lease of life. We are now access-friendly into our restaurant and bar. Being a grade ll listed building has created a few problems extending this to our bedrooms, but we are working on it The changes are fantastic, though in character. We are particularly enjoying the new Riverview Bar, and as the name suggests you can enjoy the magnificent views across the Wye Valley and River below.The Royal is situated on the rocky cliff above the Wye valley (I think I mentioned the views already) and is in deed the face of Ross -on-Wye Ross was one of the first market towns in England and is still known for its antique shops and Market Square.We have two spectacular dining areas to satisfy most appetites. Barretts Restaurant offers a more formal dining experience in our Grand restaurant with chandeliers, table service, subdued lighting and soft music Or choose to relax and unwind in the Riverview bar or on the terrace whilst taking in the breath taking views of the River Wye and the surrounding hills and valley (we have mentioned the views).
