Kick and DickyA Historic Hotel in Standon, HertfordshireWellpond Green Standon Hertfordshire England SG11 1NL
Accommodation
Description:
From: £50.00 The Kick and Dicky is an attractive country inn dating from about 1800. It is situated in the hamlet of Wellpond Green, near Standon, in Hertfordshire, in a peaceful, rural setting, with panoramic views on all sides of farmland, wood and vales. You are assured of a friendly and comfortable welcome from owners Cathy and Frankie, after over ten years of experience of running a wine bar and then a popular local pub, bought this inn in early 2005 After extensive refurbishment, they just managed to keep to their published opening date, even though such items as the state-of-the-art cooker only arrived that very day.Since then the Kick and Dicky has gained an enviable reputation, especially for the cooking of the two talented young chefs. Windy has been with the hosts all the time in their previous hostelries They are supported by an enthusiastic team, equally loyal to Cathy and Frankie. There is a splendid, spacious bar, and a large, light and comfortable restaurant, both furnished with specially commissioned tables and chairs. There are also six attractive letting rooms, all shower-en-suite, with TV and windows overlooking rural Hertfordshire at its best These rooms are proving very popular, especially as the Inn is only a few miles from both the A10 and the M11, and a 15-20 minute drive to Stanstead Airport. Guests also much appreciate the opportunity to eat excellent food accompanied by one the sixty-four different wines. Accommodation Rating: 4*G (about ratings) Facilities
