Four generations ago; the Mawdsley family were basket manufacturers and the building was known as Towngate Basket Works. In 1982; 20 years after it closed as a basket works; the building was renovated and the impressive eating establishment was created.
The enormous popularity of the restaurant led to the development of the full hotel; conference and function facilities. with great care being taken to preserve the character; intimacy and attention to detail.
Situated close to the major road networks in the North West of England; Mawdsleys is the perfect venue for all occasions where excellent food; relaxing surroundings and warm hospitality are priorities. All prices include full English breakfast.
