Formerly the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School dating back to the 1795 it became a hotel in 1982 with many of the original features giving the hotel a Grade 2 listing. The Hotel has over two acres of gardens and fish pond to relax by and unwind from the stressful day or journey There are spacious grounds around the hotel. In summer you can sit by the fish pond whilst enjoying a relaxing drink. There is an abundance of flowers especially in spring & early summer You may even find some of the wild garlic in the chef's dishes. Open to residents and non-residents the Hickman Hill Hotel restaurant is set in an ideal setting where you can enjoy a superb menu using the best in local produce. It is also the ideal place where you can celebrate a birthday, christening, an anniversary, wedding reception or any other special occasion We work to the highest standards of cuisine, ranging from light snacks at the bar through to table d'hote dinners and lunches, with traditional roast Sunday lunches to tempt the most discerning palate.
