For almost two centuries our establishment has offered a warm welcome to travellers. Guests will feel at ease in the cosy bar with its open fire and exposed beams and are keen to savour the excellent, award winning food, with its daily changing freshly prepared menu

The Pack Horse Inn offers bed & breakfast and every room has a TV, tea and coffee making facilities and an en-suite shower-room or bathroom. These were refurbished to a very high standard in February 2008. There is also an adjoining self-contained cottage which sleeps two people

The quiet Northumbrian village of Ellingham, just eight miles north of Alnwick, has changed little since the ancient drovers? roads were well-travelled routes. Fields and woodland still surround the cluster of sandstone collages and the picturesque, square-towered church of St Maurice looks across the wide landscape to the spectacular coastline.
