The Black Swan prides itself in delivering the best customer experience hosting regular events such as our Wednesday pub quiz and Sunday Karaoke alongside special one off themed nights.

The Black Swan has been standing since the 18th Century - believed by many historians to be the oldest pub in Alnwick. We want to do justice to such a special building and historical legacy by making The Black Swan a truly special pub. We take great care to keep the charm and beauty of the structure while offering a modern casual and friendly experience.

Our team are passionate about great hospitality earning us a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for our pub. We believe that traditional British taverns are one of the foundations of British culture and we work hard to make The Black Swan a beloved retreat for both local regulars and visitors from further afield. Traditional touches such as our weekly Sunday roast give our establishment a real family feeling.

Our rooms are a unique place to stay modern and comfortable with all the essentials but full of the charm of the ancient building. Every care has been taken to ensure that our rooms have everything you might need for a pleasant restful stay. We have three rooms for rent in the upstairs floor of the tavern each with a double bed and stylish decor.
