Directions:
The Cotswold Hotel Inn for All Seasons is situated on the A40 three miles west of Burford towards Cheltenham on the Gloucestershire Oxfordshire border. We are approximately 17 miles from Cheltenham and the M5 19 miles from Oxford 22 miles from Swindon and the M4 and 20 miles from Gloucester. Our nearest mainline railway station is Charlbury which is less than 15 minutes by car. We can easily arrange for delegates and guests to be collected from the station. Facilities can also be arranged for our clients who wish to arrive by helicopter. Although in the heart of the Cotswolds because of the excellent local railway connections we are only an hour from London. Guests who are here for a longer stay might like to take the opportunity of a day-trip (or two) to the capital without the inconvenience of driving and parking. The Inn has ample off-road secure parking for up to 70 cars and can accommodate small mini-buses and coaches by arrangement. In its lifetime this 16th- century coaching inn has been a garage a filling station and two quarry cottages whose occupants quarried the stone for St Paul's Cathedral. Within its solid Cotswold stone walls is a treasure-trove of ancient oak beams inglenooks and contemporary furniture. There are several guest ales among them always a Wychwood from nearby Witney and a large selection of wines by the glass. The Sharp family has owned the Inn since 1986; Matthew Sharp the chef has worked with the Roux Brothers and Anton Mosimann. Good connections with the people in Brixham guarantee a wonderful supply of fresh fish for specials such as grilled fillet of yellow fin tunaon a classic salad nicoise with an anchovy dressing and parmesan shavings; flash-fried squid with lime and baby spinach leaf salad; and grilled troncon of turbot with tarragon potatoes and a béarnaise sauce. If you prefer land over sea look to the main menu for starters such as River Dart salmon confit with a cucumber and avocado salsa; stilton and toasted walnut salad with a herb dressing; and chicken chorizo and mushroom terrine wrapped in Parma ham. Main courses might be sautéed wild mushrooms and penne pasta tossed in parmesan and fresh herb butter; and roast chump of lamb on a minted pea puree with Madeira sauce. Desserts might include warm pineapple and Satsuma served with vanilla ice cream. For those seeking a lunchtime snack there are grilled paninis and mouthwatering snacks such as bubble and squeak with bacon and fried egg or steamed Oxfordshire suet pudding with tangy sauce alongside the main a la carte menu There is also a good selection of wines by the bottle or glass.Principal beers includeWadworth 6X Interbrew Bass Wychwood Badger .
