The attractive market town of Crewkerne has many fine buildings; made from the honey-coloured ham stone characteristic of the area. Visit the striking 15th-century church or wander around the town's tearooms and art; antique and book shops or the Heritage Centre. Crewkerne is ideally situated for exploring the south coast and the Somerset countryside.
The present building dates from 1832. Its newly decorated rooms have been recently modernised. The cosy lounge is ideal to pop in for tea or coffee. The George Bar has a wide range of real ales; beers; spirits and liqueurs. In the restaurant; our chef's home cooked meals (including mouth-watering sweets) are made with local produce where ever possible.
The George remains as it has for generations past; a haven for the traveler and a focal point for the surrounding community.
